another frustration from the mother nature

THE WORLD IS GETTING FURIOUS.

Yea, I am talking about the Earthquake in Padang, Sumatra.

About five years ago, when I first came to Singapore, it was 26 Dec 2004, there was the tsunami. Five years later, 30 Sept 2009, another earthquake in Sumatra.
Well, what does this say? Quoted from ChannelNewsAsia,

Professor Kerry Sieh, professor of Geology, Earth Observatory of Singapore,
NTU, said: "It's definitely getting worse. The earthquake sequence began in 2000
with a 7.9 about 800 km away from the south of Singapore. You haven't felt this
big of a sequence of earthquakes that is many large earthquakes for at least 175
years.

It is actually quite amazing that an earthquake quite far away, 530km away from Singapore, could result in the shaking of buildings in Singapore. I think 530km is far. Sometimes, nature has it's own best way to show it's omnipotent nature. Don't you think the earth is so unpredictable? I am always very interested in all these natural disasters. Someday I want to experience earthquake, but of course, I wanna survive it too. Then, maybe I could understand the feeling of those being trapped and feeling helpless when they see that their world is collapsing (literally) right before their eyes. Then, I would feel more grateful with what I have right now? It's not like I am not grateful with what I have now, but I believe that an experience like this would change my life, my perception of life and maybe turn me into a better person and maybe I could use my experience to motivate others around me. HAHA I am so ambitious.

Anyway, take a look at another piece of news. This one is about my Penang island! :D :D Some more news from Malaysia. WOW You must me thinking that: "wow szeching reads news frequently!" HAHAHA only today :P

After reading this piece of news, I feel that I am lucky to be in Singapore. At least the place where I am studying is not located directly on the Pacific Ring of Fire. At least my parents need not worry about me when there is an earthquake nearby because 99% (I think it's quite safe so I put 99%) I would be safe. Sometimes I feel really grateful to be staying in whether Malaysia or Singapore. At least we are not hit by natural disasters so often (:
