I think the mass media is a very scary monster. News spread fast. In only less than 24 hours, I am sure many junior colleges students are aware of the latest news on stomp. I shall not mention what the news is about because I don't think it's worth spreading to the whole world and besides that, I think it's really an exaggeration of what actually happened. I was totally disgusted by how a warped article can bring so much discussion to the society. Whatever was written on the news, I would say, 0.5% truth and 99.5% subjective views by the stomper. I shall refrain from mentioning the school (which happens to be my school) to avoid any unnecessary attention.
Initially I don't even want to blog about this, but after reading so much, I just need to say a few things. This piece of news has allowed some people to take advantage of it and start mocking and criticising my school. No one should doubt about the reputation of my school just because of one incident. Seriously, I don't believe that other junior colleges do not have students bahaving like this. Okay, one may be fair to say that what happened was a bit overboard, which I do agree, but, since no one was hurt and everyone went away without any negative feelings, as a third person, what right do we have to make assumptions about things that we are not even sure of? Think about it, and I hope tomorrow when I go to school for my paper, no reporters are going to hang around my school and try to spot for the girl or even interview any of us to ask for comments because like what I have said earlier, let's just stop nosing around.
I am really sad for what my principal has to go through and all the unwanted attention to my school and all the students. I pray hard that my school will stand strong to overcome this (I shall call it scandal) scandal and be even more united than ever. And, if you are an acsian reading this, you should not be ashamed of your school and defend it. No matter what, you can't deny that this school has provided you with good education.
I love my school and I am sure this storm will be over real soon.
One last thought, stomp is just a website for people who want attention, who has nothing better to do and who are insensitive, to spread news which are not even constructive to the society.
